A native of Webster, Massachusetts, Jacob Simonis graduated from Coker University in December of 2018 after playing soccer there for 4 years. Throughout his time as a Student-Athlete, he was on the SAC( South Atlantic Conference) Commissioner’s Honor Roll. After graduation, he pursued a professional soccer career in Iceland, and in the United States with various teams. After his soccer career came to an end, he worked at the College of the Holy Cross as an intern with Athletic Event/Facilities Management, Compliance, and a Volunteer Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach. Jacob was selected to attend the Emerging Leaders Seminar this past February at the NCAA National Office to enhance his leadership skills. In the summer of 2020, he was named the Head Men's Soccer Coach for Rough Diamonds, LLC that competes in the National Premier Soccer League(NPSL). He comes to the Center for Sport Leadership excited to submerge himself in the world of sport and further his career in the athletic industry. Jacob is excited to serve as a graduate assistant for compliance in VCU’s Athletic Department.
