Mario Sequeira-Quesada is from San José, Costa Rica. He arrived at Virginia Commonwealth University in August of 2017 to pursue a degree in print and online journalism. After graduating from his undergraduate, Mario joins CSL while playing his senior season as a goalkeeper and captain of VCU’s Men’s Soccer. Prior to coming to VCU, Mario played for the soccer team Deportivo Saprissa in Costa Rica. He entered the team through the youth system at 9 years of age. Mario played for each age group and became the starter and captain of Saprissa’s second team, leading to his professional debut with the first team in 2016. Six months before joining VCU Men’s Soccer, Mario played in the U-20 CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers and participated in the 2017 U-20 FIFA World Cup in South Korea with Costa Rica’s U-20 National Team. Mario looks forward to becoming a professional soccer player, but his passion for sports motivates him to prepare better for a position in marketing or communications and media in the industry. He joins CSL with the utmost excitement and commitment to expanding the CSL Network in the future.
