Allison Smith is originally from Daleville, VA now living in Richmond, VA as a post doctorate research fellow in the Center for Sport Leadership at VCU. Her research focus is the holistic care of student-athletes, particularly looking at their psychological and physiological state after transitioning out of sport, work/life balance of coaches and administrators in college sport, as well as the role of women in intercollegiate athletics. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism and her Masters of Art in Sport Administration at Wingate University. She also earned her Masters of Science in Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior as well as her Doctorate in Kinesiology and Sport Studies from the University of Tennessee.
