Betty Kiconco

Betty Kiconco was born in Uganda and moved to the United States in 2013, growing up in Lorton, Virginia. She began her education at Northern Virginia Community College, where she earned her Associate’s degree in General Studies with Magna Cum Laude honors. She then transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health Science. While at VCU, Betty was involved in Bridges, the Weightlifting Club, and the Exercise Science Club. She gained professional experience through a 120-hour internship with Movement X Physical Therapy and a 240-hour internship with Adams Performance, where she worked with high school athletes and community members in strength and conditioning. In addition, she volunteered with the Inclusive Fitness and Health Program, promoting health and wellness for young adults with disabilities. She is currently completing her graduate assistantship with the Mary & Frances Youth Center and is excited to continue building her knowledge, developing meaningful connections, and working toward her long-term goal of creating a youth sports facility.

Jane McConville, born and raised in Midlothian, Virginia, is thrilled to return home to RVA for her graduate studies. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from James Madison University's School of Communication in May of 2024 and worked as an editorial intern for Madison Magazine, an account manager for Bluestone Communications, JMU's student-run PR firm, and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society throughout her undergraduate studies.
