The Richmond sporting community

The city is our campus

The CSL is embedded in the Richmond sports community. CSL students don’t just live here — they play an active role in creating the city’s culture. Thanks to the strong partnerships and innovative collaborations developed by our faculty and staff, our students benefit from a unique collection of resources that enhance their overall experience. Richmond is a thriving hub for sport, and we are proud that the CSL is at its heart.

Here are just a few of the real-world work experiences our students have completed in Richmond.

  • Partnering with Sports Backers to have students conduct surveys and analyze marketing data for events like the Richmond Marathon and Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k
  • Working operations at the Atlantic 10 women’s basketball tournament
  • Engaging NASCAR fans on race weekend at Richmond Raceway
  • Producing comprehensive marketing plans for a variety of Richmond-based teams and organizations
  • Collaborating with Independence Golf Club to introduce Foot Golf as part of a marketing revenue-generation strategy
  • Volunteering at the 2015 UCI Road World Championships, the first time this event had been held in the United States in almost 30 years
  • Assisting tour personnel, sponsors and stakeholders at Dominion Energy Charity Classic, a PGA Tour Champions event
