Daniel Steenkamer is from Newark, Delaware and earned his B.A. in Communication at the University of Delaware.

At Delaware, Steenkamer spent 3.5 years with student radio station WVUD, where he produced and broadcast Fightin’ Blue Hens games, hosted sports talk panels, and expanded the sports department's social media presence and recruiting through a new student photography effort. He also edited, mentored, and wrote in the sports section at The Review, the independent student newspaper. As a senior, he was an undergraduate intern for ESPN and NBC Sports play-by-play broadcaster Mike Corey.

Elsewhere in “the 302,” Steenkamer coached at Phillies Baseball Academy, worked at the Wilmington Blue Rocks as a gameday attendant, and assisted the Blue Hen Touchdown Club with digital needs ranging from Instagram to Influencer by Teamworks.  

Prior to college, Steenkamer began regular freelance work covering the FCS at HEROSports.com. In addition to his written content concentrated on the CAA and other eastern conferences, he photographed multiple FCS national championship games in Frisco, Texas for the outlet. His latest media project is the Feathers & Field Goals podcast, a video and audio program that centers on Delaware athletics and connects the Blue Hen community.

Steenkamer is a VCU graduate assistant serving in development with the Ram Athletic Fund. He is overjoyed to garner college athletics administration experience at an Atlantic 10 power while learning at the country’s preeminent business school for college sports professionals.
