Jakai Gibson was born in Newark, DE, and grew up between Wilmington, DE, and Virginia Beach, VA. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a concentration in General Marketing. While an undergraduate, he held positions including Fundraising Chair, Public Relations Chair, and President of the Business Student Ambassadors. Jakai had his sights set on the Center of Sport Leadership even before graduating high school. He is currently working with the Richmond Volleyball Club as a Graduate Assistant in the Operations Assistant role. Jakai is a huge advocate of women’s sports, and his main career goal is to become a driving force in the development of the Women’s National Basketball League. He’s excited to use the priceless experiences and skills provided to him through the CSL to achieve that.
