Jim Thomas was born and raised in Southampton, England. After moving to the US at 18, he spent a year as a soccer program coordinator at DC SCORES, a non-profit that provides soccer and poetry enrichment activities to underprivileged youth in Washington DC. He later attended James Madison University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication. While at JMU, Jim was a member of WXJM Radio and Delta Phi Epsilon Foreign Service Organization. In 2024, he was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grant and taught in the Czech Repubilc. Jim's graduate assistantship is at the Bon Air Juvenile Correction Center where he is assisting with the Sport for Youth Justice program.
