Lauren Henderson was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended North Carolina State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with Minors in Sports Science, Coaching Education, and Anthropology. She earned Dean’s list honors and the number one class ranking every semester. While at NC State, Lauren was a strong advocate for women’s equality and quickly became involved with the Women in Sport Leadership program on campus. As a senior, Lauren was one of two undergraduates on the executive planning team and helped secure a $10,000 grant for the initiative, which helped implement a speaker series, women in sports clinic, networking event, and a first-year mentoring program with local elementary and high schools. Furthermore, this past summer, Lauren worked as the Director of Game Day Operations/General Manager of a summer collegiate baseball team, Hendersonville Honeycrisps, and helped lead them off the field as they won the ONSL Mountain Division and made a successful run in the playoffs. She is currently completing two graduate assistantships with VCU Athletics, one with Sport Operations and the other with the Equipment Room. Lauren is excited to get to know her classmates and to continue learning about the sports industry so she can help tackle the inequities throughout the industry.
