Tavian joins the VCU CSL Program as a Graduate Assistant in Marketing and Promotions for

VCU Athletics. Tavian is a May 2022 graduate of Hampton University with a Bachelor of

Science in Sports Management.

During his time at Hampton and taking a break from school and going into the workforce, Tavian

has developed a strong background in marketing and sales, sports program planning, event

management, and participant and employee development. He has developed these skills by

working at Boo Williams Sportsplex, where he organized several basketball tournaments,

different marketing firms, the MEAC March Madness games, and different AAU basketball

tournaments and games.

Coming from a military family and being involved with participating in sports, whether playing

in or working behind-the-scenes, Tavian has learned to adapt to new environments and prove that

he not only understands from the player and fan perspectives, but as well as from operating and

managing perspectives on how much of an impact the sports industry has on the world. He is

looking forward to working with the VCU Athletic Marketing Team and learning all that he can.
