CSL students hit the road to Baltimore to tour some iconic sports venues and learn from some of the most respected people in the industry. Over two days in October, the CSL visited University of Maryland, Under Armour, Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles. The purpose of these annual Fall class trips is to see first hand many of elements that are discussed in our graduate classes.

The journey started on Thursdsy morning October 17 with a visit to Maryland which was coordinated by Carrie Blankenship, Senior Associate AD for External Affairs and an adjunct faculty member for the CSL's Distance Learning Program. She coordinated a program that allowed our students to hear from various members of the athletic department who offered unique insight into their responsibilities. The talk followed was followed by a tour of their athletic facilities.

The next stop was Under Armour, which is headquarted on Baltimore's Tide Point near the Inner Harbor. Under Armour has grown to become a global sports brand and our students were treated to a tour of the complex.

On Friday, our students tour M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens and Oriole Park at Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles.  It was a unique opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at a pair of world class sports venues that many of our students had only seen on TV.  We are grateful to both organizations for sharing their time and experience with our students.
