Samantha Michel was born and raised in California, before moving to Long Island, New York and Cary, North Carolina. She played basketball at Northeastern University and Anderson University where she graduated with a undergrad degree in Communications and a minor in Media and Screen Studies. Then she earned a graduate degree in Organizational Leadership. She was selected to be a part of the WBCA “So You Want To Be A Coach Program” class of 2022 where she increased her understanding and applications of skills necessary to secure a coaching position in the world of Women’s Basketball. After college, she started her career at the University of Utah as the Creative Director for Marketing & Recruiting where she worked on a Power Five, Pac-12 Championship program. Samantha will be working with the VCU Women’s Basketball program this academic school year. Her philosophy is that being a genuine person will get you far in life and she plans to follow that throughout her time here in the CSL program.
