Dan Gale

Dan Gale, recently named one of Sport Business Journal's top "Power Player's in Collegiate Athletics," has brokered over $200 million in multimedia rights contracts benefiting colleges, complex digital and linear rights deals for conferences, multi-million dollars worth of naming rights and corporate partnerships, numerous apparel and outfitting partnerships, comprehensive secondary ticket arrangements and seven figure gift agreements, all in the past twenty-four months. Dan has obtained experience in all aspects and sides of complex negotiations that he leads for the Leona Marketing Group, which he founded in 2016.

Dan began his career in intercollegiate athletics working directly on the campuses of two major Division I institutions and a small Division II college. Upon graduation with a specialized collegiate sport focused Master’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dan transitioned to the multimedia space. Dan began working for Tar Heel Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Sports, and later transitioned into the bulk of his career working in multimedia rights for CBS Collegiate Sports Properties. While at CBS, Dan was promoted to the role of East Region Sales Manager. 

Some of Dan’s expert negotiating skills were seen when he negotiated deals for University of Alabama at Birmingham with Learfield IMG College, University of Texas at El Paso with Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) with Collegiate Sports Management and a first of its kind partnership for Northeastern University with TD Garden/Delaware North. Dan has also assisted with major deals for over thirty colleges and conferences, to date.
