Steve D'Adamo
Steve D’Adamo returns to VCU as an adjunct professor where he teaches Leadership in Youth & Interscholastic Sport. He received his undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering at Virginia Tech while also playing on the Men’s Soccer Team. He received his M. Ed in Sport Leadership from VCU in 2012.
Steve is currently the Director of Tournaments for the Richmond Strikers, who host several youth soccer tournaments including one of the largest and most prestigious youth tournaments in the country – The Jefferson Cup. During the 2019-2020 season, the Richmond Strikers Tournament Series will host over 3,000 youth soccer teams throughout the year.
Prior to his role as a Tournament Director, he has been a youth coach for over 20 years and has coached all genders, levels and ages from 3 years old recreational players to high school and collegiate players in national leagues. He was a full-time staff coach and assistant director for the Richmond Strikers from 2011-2013. He then served as an Director of Student Activities (AD) for LC Bird High School in Chesterfield, VA where he oversaw an athletic department with great success in many sports including Track & Field, Football and Girls & Boys Basketball. A native of Mechanicsville, VA, he lives in Richmond with his wife and two sons.
